Build Backlinks for your Sites quickly with Ping.fm - The Best Guide For How To Get Quick Backlinks up
85Looking for an Easy HubPages Guide?
Find out how to take your hubs to the next level with the HubPages GIANT Guide To Getting Traffic And Making Money.
Introduction
The importance of external backlinks can not be under-estimated, especially in a post-Panda environment. Since Google's Panda algorithm update, there has been a definite reduction in the amount of traffic coming through the search engine, due to a decrease of rankings for HubPages listings. We all hope that, in the future, this will get better, but in the meantime what can you do to protect yourself and keep breathing life into your hubs? Backlinks are considered to be the key, by many who have analyzed the situation.
Update: The future came early, as HubPages was quick to introduce subdomains, which should allow the junk to be penalized and the quality authors to thrive. Those external links are still a great idea, though!
The more external links you have for your hubs, the better. Building those backilinks, though, can be a very time-consuming process. Sharing your hubs via Twitter or Facebook is a great method, however, with the huge number of these social sites out there, it's important to take advantage of any tool which can do the job faster and more efficiently. This is where Ping.fm comes into play. In this hub, we'll take a look a Ping.fm and how you can implement it to leverage your backlinks while decreasing the time and energy you need to spend on promoting your hubs to external sites.
What is Ping.fm?
Ping.fm is a social site aggregation tool, which allows you to post a single message to multiple sites, including Twitter, Facebook, Blogger and Wordpress. It's completely free to use, requires no software to download and is very user friendly.
Simply sign up for an account and then add any relevant services that you would like to broadcast (or syndicate) to, and once connected, you can then send to dozens of accounts with the ease of sending a single tweet or status update from your favorite social media platform.
Why Use Ping.fm?
If you are incorporating any sort of external backlinking strategy into your HubPage's promotion, which you definitely should be, you will greatly benefit from this free service. I recently sent out a link to one of my hubs, which took less than a minute with ping.fm, and it was automatically posted to 13 different blogs and social media accounts I use across the internet. Had I wanted to, I could have sent this same link out to even more accounts.
This not only provides for an easy way to boost your traffic, it raises the rankings of your hubs or HubPage's profile in the search engines by adding valuable external backlinks.
How to Promote Hubs with Ping.fm
Promoting hubs using ping.fm is quick and simple. First you need to register for your free account, which you can do at the Ping.fm website. Once you've registered, just add any relevant services you use or sign up for new accounts on services that are available, which you would like to connect. There's a number of enhanced features available such as groups to help you keep everything organized, but for my purposes, I just send to all the accounts I've added, and avoid adding any which I do not want to receive the posts.
I highly recommend that anyone who wants to boost traffic to their hubs, and increase their earnings, to start using this service. Your hubs can benefit from an immediate boost to traffic if users on the sites you connect click through, and more importantly, you will start building backlinks, which will pay off big overtime. It generally takes about 90 days to see the effects of the backlinks with your search engine rankings, so don't get discouraged, and keep posting links to any new hubs you create, as well as regularly reposting your older hubs.
Post Guidelines
You're going to want to keep your post small and to the point. Ping.fm will indicate to you if your post is going to be too long for services such as Twitter which have a low maximum word count. Generally, I begin my posts with an action word such as "get" or "discover". Be sure to include the link to your hub. Don't worry if your url is shortened, as this should not have a negative impact upon your backlinks.

Thanks again for helpful info. Voted up. Looking forward to the future hub you mention above.
Thanks for the info on Ping.fm. I will give it a go because we all need backlinks.
This is really useful. I haven't heard of Ping.fm but am working on a project that would definitely benefit from it. As you say, getting backlinks is hard work sometimes, so something (legitimate) that makes it easier is a big plus.
I still haven't used Ping.fm to promote my works. By reading this hub, I've just been greatly encouraged to start using it. Thanks for this info.

I'm not sure about the value of those backlinks! If its all the same content at every service used through Ping (because the same post is copied to each one), then why would Google index them all and treat all links as backlinks? Surely the duplicate content filter would negate the value to just one original source?
